So last week during RAG Week we had our brief waiting for us. I took one so I could look at it during the week of relaxation and it was not an easy looking brief! We had to choose one group of three words from a selection of five..confusing to explain but easy to understand if you actually saw the brief. Anyway I chose the words volume/bulky/blunt and from there I did some contextual research on designers that used those words as inspiration for their work...such as Viktor and Rolf, Alexander McQueen, Issey Miyake, Sandra Buckland, etc. I am really loving Viktor and Rolf!! Their stuff is just amazing!!
So yesterday (Monday) we had to choose a theme and then do some drawings based on that theme. I chose "flowers" as my theme so I drew some analytical drawings of gladioli, tulips and lilies! Then I did more linear drawings of those flowers. I picked out and traced shapes from the linear drawings that I found exciting. I drew quite a few so I had quite a selection! I'm happy with the drawings that I chose though!! What do you think??
