End of week 7

So this week was the week of the progress reviews. Kind of didn't know what quite to quite to expect! It was grand but sure only time will tell what the tutors actually thought!

Last night was the Halloween trip so for most of the week I spent my time making my "Katy Perry as Smurfette" costume. Twas fun! So while I was doing that I was thinking of ways to start my CCS essay and what else I can do for my project!

Overall, not that productive a week but sure I'll start again next week :)

End of week 6

Cannot believe how fast these past few weeks have gone. The past 2 weeks have been a bit hectic with so many workshops to go to and then there are the lectures and after school activities to do as well!!!

This week was an experimental week for me. I was inspired by the work that I saw at Dublin Contemporary but being inspired and doing something with that inspiration is completely different!! I think anyway.

I started experimenting by knitting wire, old clothes and plastic bin bags. I wove some clay also. Then decided to use wool in the opposite way it is commonly used. I painted with it and tried to replicate the work of Gabriel Dawe. It was my interpretation anyway :)

End of Week 4

It's the end of week 4 and I'm slowly moving on with my work. Decided to do a lot more weaving this week like weaving string, rope, wool and wire. I've been trying to do what Gabriel Dawe does and yet put my own spin on it. I'm working away and thinking of new ideas constantly. Most of them don't really work but experimenting is part of it too I suppose!!

End of Week 3

Ok so today is Friday and it is the third week into Art College. Suppose no better time to start it really! I started with the Movement and Motion project to go down the route of candles and flames and how people light candles to stop movement and motion. However, in a candle itself there is a lot of movement and motion with the erratic flame and turbulence in the wax from the heat. After talking to my tutor though I've kind of started going down the use of light and shade and colour really. Like strobe lights and Gabriel Dawe's use of colourful thread. I find that part really exciting. We'll see how things plan out sure :)
