Using string art to create a word
So last week I was online looking up string art and came across the website in the link in the blog below and I decided I wanted to try that out.....so I did!
As you can see my maths needs a little bit of practice when planning out big projects like this but I was just so excited about trying it out I went ahead with it. Today I decided to paint the strings and the black letters with UV paint and to let it drip down giving it an untidy look.
I was hoping that the effect would turn out how I planned but I've yet to find out because I can't find anyone with an ultraviolet light. Fingers crossed it turns out correctly. But at least I tried and experimented!

String Art in my acrylic box
So I went down to my old school and made a box out of clear acrylic. Yes...I drilled the holes myself that's why in real life the box looks a little dodgey and unfinished.....bit of a wobbly hand! But the way the strings turned out made me think of structural forms from DCG. I researched that and came across some really really class string art so I'm really thinking of doing something like that next!! just need to choose a design and do that over the weekend.
I've been thinking how to realte this back to light though. It does represent light movement because it is like a load of strobe lights and also its moving light because the strings being so taught creates movement when you move it. I was thinking of getting UV paint and covering some of the strings in it and taking pictures of it in a really dark room!
PS....Its the first blog of this month so......HAPPY DECEMBER!!!
